Social Care Interoperability Platform (SCIP)

This Implementation Guide (IG) defines a set of experimental FHIR artifacts being developed for the Social Care Interoperability Platform (SCIP). It represents a prototype, early‑alpha publication, intended solely for preview and technical exploration.

The content in this guide is highly provisional. All FHIR-related structures—including but not limited to:

  • Profiles and extensions
  • Code systems and value sets
  • Logical models and examples
  • Capability statements and operation definitions
  • Search parameters, interactions, and API behaviour
  • Workflow and messaging patterns are unstable and expected to undergo rapid and potentially breaking changes.

Readers should assume that:

  • FHIR artifacts may be renamed, restructured, added, or removed without notice.
  • Resource definitions, bindings, invariants, and conformance expectations may change significantly between releases.
  • API interactions, workflows, and implementation patterns are not finalised and will evolve as the prototype and stakeholder input mature.
  • No long‑term compatibility or version stability is guaranteed at this stage.

The aim of this pre-alpha IG is to support early collaboration around how FHIR can be applied to improve interoperability in social care, recognising that all artifacts and design decisions are subject to substantial refinement as the platform evolves.
